This was to help her gain an understanding of the construction phase within the company, she went to one of our current conversions in Birmingham with our Operations Manager Mark Wood, this is her report of her site visit;

My site visit to a semi-detached property in Kingshurst, Birmingham. This project involves a rear dormer loft conversion including two bedrooms and one bathroom with a Velux window in the en-suite.
During my visit the construction team brought me up to speed, what they had been doing during the past two weeks. They were at the main construction stage of the build and began to show me what they had installed and constructed.
All the steel and timber floor structure was in place and the first fix plumbing for the bathroom suite was completed. All the enhancing rafters were installed, ready for insulation and plaster boarding, prior to plastering.
The main part of the construction the dormer was constructed ready for the tiling to be completed and the EDPM rubber roof is to be laid by our in house roofer.
Whilst we were on site, the company Operations Manager inspected the scaffold to make sure it was safe and secure. This is performed on a weekly basis, but also each day by the construction team who do a visual check.
My visit proved to be very successful and informative, as I got an insight into what the construction team do during the build of a Buckley Loft Conversion. I gained an appreciation of the hard work involved in achieving a quality conversion and seeing in place on site the Health and Safety requirements for the wellbeing and safety of the teams and our customers.
