Review of Construction in 2012!
Well, 2012 has certainly been a very busy year within all areas of Buckley Loft Conversions. The amount of jobs completed has increased by 25%, ranging from staircase installations and boarded storage areas, to full loft conversions. Not only have we built more, but we have constructed some of the biggest and most complex loft conversions, and extensions to date. We have as usual been covering a wide area across the West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire.
Buckley’s have also constructed a variety of builds in Conservation and Trust areas and even converted our very first Grade 11 Listed Building. Another major project was a four storey town house conversion, which required a unique sprinkler system installation and we have just completed the installation of a mezzanine floor in a Barn Conversion, with a contemporary oak and glass finish staircase.
Early March we were pleased to be part of a Pilot Scheme for the first loft conversion for Riverside Housing Group, on behalf of Sandwell Council to address overcrowding issues within the Sandwell Borough. The construction was an outstanding success and we were happy to be invited to its unveiling.
Health & Safety
Health and safety of all our employees and clients is a priority. We have all current Health and Safety Risk Assessments and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and Plan is located within BLC Building. For peace of mind clients are welcome to view, we are happy to oblige and answer any questions or concerns.
All our sub contractors and employee’s receive Health and Safety Inductions and are required to wear the correct Health and Safety work wear on site. For your peace of mind, all personnel wear Buckley’s Hi Visibility Vests, so we will not be missed and all our workers have individual I.D. Badges numbers so our customers will know who is turning up at their door step.

This year there has been;
- CISRS Scaffold Inspection training by Operations Manager Mark Wood
- Receptionist; Fern Cranney has qualified in her NVQ level 3 Business & Administration
- Asbestos Awareness Course training for all personnel
- Workshop machinery training
- Working at Heights Awareness Course.
- Forklift truck training
- Social media courses.
Marketing & Advertising
During this year we developed our new Website to create a new branding for Buckley’s, with the expert help from graphic designer Pete Simcoe (Simcoe Media). We wanted to show how our Company differs from other loft conversion companies, which hopefully transpired thought our new website.
To us it is extremely important that we showcase OUR work alone. We are proud of the conversions we do, unlike many companies that use Velux promotional photographs, (no matter how great they look). We take this view to give our clients a realistic view of the possibilities and the quality, innovative design and build of our conversions, as not to mislead in any way.
We now write monthly news articles that are published on our website to keep our readers up to date. Contributions are made to social media Websites; Twitter (View here), Facebook (View here), Google plus (View here).
In September we were approached for a contribution to a feature in the production of a Garage Conversion article in Real Homes Magazine, which contained our case study and pictures. Click here to view article.
A new brochure and company stationery has been designed and printed creating a new image for Buckley’s for 2013.
We added an additional van to the company for our delivery driver – professionally sign written by a local company, hopefully people won’t miss us out on the roads!
We are part of ‘The best of Cannock’ and ‘Staffordshire’ this year which is an addition to the many other organisations we are part of including the FMB, Fairtrades and The Staffordshire Trade Register.
We always pride ourselves in building quality constructions and quality workmanship. This year the many specialist conversions and staircases that have been constructed with all at Buckleys are great to see – and to be proud of.
Additional constructions teams were added this year, which are an asset to Buckley’s and they are building some fantastic conversions. To get as many conversion images as possible we are always grateful to our clients who allow us to use their images on our website.
Our testimonial and referral scheme is growing all the time with our happy customers, so there are always conversions that new clients can go and view before making their final decision.
So after a great year we are now all looking forward to the Christmas break!! We look forward to starting to the New Year and have many projects ready to start, we are excited what 2013 will bring and hope to have as many satisfied customers as this year and we thank all the employees and subcontractors for their hard work and commitment.
