This Rear Dormer Loft Conversion started last week in Sutton Coldfield. The property is semi-detached and goes back very far as you can see on the plan below. In order for the stairs to work into the loft conversion it means the third bedroom  has to be made a smaller as shown below;

The loft conversion constitutes as ‘Permitted Development’ (P.D) so no Planning Permission was required for this conversion. The proposed rear dormer falls below the 50 cubic metre allowance under P.D requirements, so just Building Regulation Approval were needed to start this loft conversion.
