From a Customers Perspective – The Loft Conversion Process!

This beautifully designed and decorated Rear Dormer Loft Conversion has recently been completed in Sutton Coldfield.

Buckley Loft Conversions had the pleasure of working with the clients, designing and constructing their dream home.  They both had exacting ideas of what they wished to achieve and their clarity of vision and input was certainly very helpful and constructive.  We are extremely glad that they are so happy and would like to extend our sincere thanks for their contribution to this article.

Mr & Mrs Leppards Loft Conversion Experience First Hand….

“Ever since we bought our little house we knew we wanted to make it a house for life!  We love our little village location and the surroundings. We knew that to keep this house forever we would have to make it bigger and better than when we first moved in. As a mid terrace we were concerned that there would not be enough room to make a decent sized loft room, how wrong we were!  I decided to Google local loft conversion companies and found that Buckley’s had the best reviews and amazing examples on the website compared to other companies.

I called up and the surveyor came to our house to have a look at our loft space and discuss options with us!

My husband being a graphic designer had already sketched his ideas and was able to show them his vision of how he would want the loft to look.

Buckley’s was the only company we contacted for a quote as I was confident and reassured by your reputation and professionalism. Due to Buckley’s popularity it seemed that our conversion wouldn’t be started until August/September, however due to another circumstance and us not minding being in a mess over Christmas we went ahead with the opportunity to have our conversion started in December.

The Teams were so lovely I immediately had a good rapport with them and felt more than happy to trust them with our little home. Prior to this giving strangers keys to our beloved home was a major concern of mine. I was quickly reassured and put at ease! Our conversion was completed in amazing time considering the time of year and weather conditions!

We initially wanted an en-suite however changed our minds during the build. The guys were happy to change plans for us and we are so happy with that decision now! We have a vast open room which is perfect without the en-suite taking up vital space.

My husband always maintained a vision of how the room should look and provided the guys with floor plans, concept images and little notes asking for the chimney wall to be extended to make way for our TV and wall unit and they were always happy to make these adjustments for us.

Many might think that you lose all storage space by converting the loft however this is not the case at all. We have an insulated hatch the access the eaves where there is still plenty of room.

The staircase to our loft is really special and in-keeping with our traditional home. Now it’s been some months we walk past the new stairs and it’s like it’s been a part of our home forever, a perfect fit!

When we first bought our home my husband and I always wanted a house that looked pretty and quaint. After seeing some examples of dormer conversions we were concerned that the addition the roof would make our house less cute! Staff at Buckley’s quickly reassured us that they could get tiles to match our current roof and that the dormer would be a good match for our home and would not look out of place. We absolutely love how our loft room looks inside and out!

The flooring was one option out of six which my husband found on a bespoke flooring website we obviously ended up choosing the most expensive option but it looks the best and we couldn’t be happier with our new room. The colour choices have given a good contrast and our room is very calming and open.
